Any advice for me and my queen pothos?

    in General Discussions

I got a queen pothos already potted from a connection on the upt Instagram. It started dying almost immediately. So I propagated two separate pieces that I managed to salvage, and they began to prosper almost overnight! So I left them in so the roots could grow. I cleaned the pot, bought new soil, and when the roots were ready, I repotted. Now they’re dying again. What am I doing wrong??

That transition from water rooting to soil is a rough on. It's not unusual for plants to struggle a little while they adapt. (Or it could be that I'm just garbage at this step myself...) How long have they been in dirt this time around? It could be they just need a bit more time.

Hang in there. This is a slow growing plant.

😫 I know that’s what I thought too. I started speaking kindly to it, trying to reason with it but to no avail

How often are you watering? how big is the pot? What kind of light does it get?

yes! Good questions thank you. I’m watering about once a week the pot is about the size of a tissue box, it gets non direct sunlight next to a window, and when I water it I water in the mornings and let it hang out outside for a little while...

Idk how long ago you transferred the cuttings to soil but if it was recent you should be keeping the soil moist for the first few weeks. The plant may go into shock because it’s only used to being wet. Sounds like you’re doing everything else right, give it time!
